This is the place where you can personalize your profile!
But, how?
By moving, adding and personalizing widgets.
You can drag and and drop to rearrange.
You can edit widgets to customize them.
The left side has widgets you can add!
Some widgets you can only access when you get a subscription.
Some widgets have options that are only available when you get a subscription.
We've split the page into zones!
Certain widgets can only be added to certain zones.
"Why," you ask? Because we want profile pages to have freedom of customization, but also to have some consistency. This way, when anyone visits a deviant, they know they can always find the art in the top left, and personal info in the top right.
Don't forget, restraints can bring out the creativity in you!
Now go forth and astound us all with your devious profiles!
You wrote: "Don't leave unpleasant comments, it's just in poor taste. That, and PelicanH will eat your soul...or would if he believed they existed.

Are you a friend of him?
It was only my opinion! It is annoying as artist to see stuff like this on an ART-site!
I don't mind nudity as long it's nicely done, but the focus of Mr. PelicanH's photo was her vagina! These Genitals-in-your-face-photos are really annoying!>.<
And it's sad that Mr. PelicanH seems to block all the negative comments, I tried to explain why I think so but no chance, and it seems that he has no backbone for his own work! When I post pictures like that, especially on a website where you can write comments, you should expect that not everyone will like it!
I don't know him, but I think he believes the human body (regardless of what part you focus on) is a work of art, and while much of his work is erotic, I doubt he ever intends it to be pornographic.
I guess it all depends on where you're coming from, but as an artist you should know that calling someone elses' art stupid, meaningless, or annoying is a rotten thing to do. I see that you're a fairly talented cartoonist. How would you like it if someone looked at your work -something you put time and effort into- and simply dismissed it as pathetic, for example, and told you that your "so-called art" was not art all but just a bunch of stupid drawings? No matter how humble someone may be about their art, it's still annoying as a cloud of blackflies to have somebody else sum it all up as trash - and in such a self-assured manner...especially if they do not specialize in the same field.
Surely there was a better way to leave your opinion - perhaps you could have even asked him to explain what he was going for, and why he decided on this shot.
There is a difference between critiquing art and condemning it.

I agree with you, the human body is art! But it depends what you make out of it. I find it strange that lots of his photos are focused on vaginas! He has some really nice photos (I like this a lot : [link]), but there are some that are just out off the place!>.< And photos like that attracts people that are not interested in art in the first place and sooner or later DA is full with lusty horny people!
With pathetic I meant MR. PelicanH's act how he behaves when someone disagrees not his work. And I didn't say that his work is "stupid" or "meaningless", I said I find it annoying to see stuff like that photo on an an art-site.
I expect that not everyone will like my stuff and I'm aware of negative comments. You can say something negative as long it helps the artist, if you say something like "I looks assy!" or "friggin ugly" that's not helpful at all! It's flaming and trolling! If you say something negative you should point out what or why it's negative!
DA is an website that is actually made for things like that: You post a picture and other artists comment, they should give you helpful criticism so you know where the mistakes are and you can get better. But unfortunately it seems not really the case here, good example DD's! If someone points out a mistake to help the artist you are considered as "mean" or "rude"! And if people don't want negative comments they should just turn the comments off!
It can be true that I was rude at that moment, but as an artist I'm really annoyed by all these (very often cheap!) porn stuff here on DA! And at that day I probably was so angry that I wrote that! But still I don't like that photo and I already mentioned why.
I tried to explain why but like I said he blocked me!
DA should make another DA but just for stuff like that! I think both sides would be happy!
I think you can block out nudes. I'm not sure, but check it out at the help desk.
I only used "stupid" and "meaningless" as examples of some of the nasty things people might say. As for his blocking you, I wouldn't worry about it. If he doesn't take honest critiques then that's his loss, but I'll bet he gets so many comments like "that's disgusting" or on the opposite end of the spectrum; "nice titties! but I don't like her face lolz" that he probably doesn't have the patience to read them thoroughly anymore. Ah well, I guess that's what comes with the territory of doing something potentially controversial, like nude photography.
BTW, if you really do feel strongly that something is inappropriate, you can bring it up with the moderators (or whoever is responsible...check the helpdesk) and they might review it. Things have been taken down before, though it's usually something blatantly pornographic like a picture of someone jerking off (ugh!) or a piece that promotes bigotry.
